Our SEPTA train cars are apparently partially assembled using a ball-peen hammer:

img_0702Let’s get some stimulus and hammer together a few more!

Dark, I know, and why does the moon look so much smaller than it really was?

Light/Speed

Two views of 52nd Street from the SEPTA platform.  The camera was set on aperture priority for both shots:

What a difference 1/480th of a second makes!  I didn’t manually adjust the shutter speed, just aimed the camera at the sky first and at the street in the second.

Eagerness

I’m enjoying the effects of darkness and slow shutter speeds.  The dog, not enjoying it so much.

Up Elevator

I believe this is slightly better than my previous effort on this subject.  I experimented with flash and alternative angles (from below and above), but the lovely bronze colors were always washed out.  Here’s an example:

AKA Shafreakua

img_0544Background is totally blown out.  Shot this in the macro setting, so probably not much to do about that.

Cracklins

img_0531

Try as I might, I couldn’t get the light in my kitchen bright enough to shoot this without the flash.  I set it to auto and here’s what the G10 came up with:

Flash: Used
Exposure time: 1/60s
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO: 250

That’s rendering pork fat in the frying pan, by the way.  I’m in the middle of making cracklins from the leftovers of a Pork Picnic.

Down Elevator

This photo sucks for a number of obvious reasons, but I still like the colors and the light and am hereby vowing to take one of the same subject that doesn’t suck as much:
